Optimus Maximus Keyboard

Thursday, June 19th, 2008 by Michael Altendorf

On of my most favorite inventions I have seen in the last years is the Optimus maximus keyboard. Very expensive but very cool. It changes every key related to the application you are running – or when did  you F4 the last time?

The bad thing is it costs more than $1000. But as I read there will be a cheaper version soon. For me it already would be helpful if there are 10 keys with changing symbols e.g. for the office toolbar or IE.

Here is a link to the homepage of the inventor:

O'Reilly on MicroBlogging aka Twitter

Friday, June 13th, 2008 by Michael Altendorf

There is a new analysis of Twitter at O’reilly. This is worth reading!
http://radar.oreilly.com/archives/2008/06/when-microblogging-grows-up.html
Most of the people in the internet are talking about technology and politics!
O’Reilly has made 2 lists
an old one of Technorati with the Top 100 blogs
http://web.archive.org/web/20050623003548/http://www.technorati.com/pop/blogs/
(try out the web back machine!!!)
and compared to that a new one

Here is a list of the most active Twitter blabbermouthes.

I wonder why Scoble is not in the list. When he is online i do not see anybody else on Twirhl.

Web Creator 2.0

Friday, June 13th, 2008 by Michael Altendorf

ReadWriteWeb has made a list of all new web page creation tools. Some of them are really nice:
http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/geocities_20_website_creation_tools.php

Webon is the most successful one:
http://www.webon.com
…and looks really good. So try it out!
I also tried out Google pages and Yahoo Web Toolkit. Google Pages is ok for the beginner but don’t start to be creative. Than you get the same problems as with templates in common webdevelopment kits like Dreamweaver, GoLive or MSFT Expression/Frontpage.

But for the first webpage it looks ok. In Germany a lot of companies inside the SMB sector still do not have an homepage.
